BC Represented at World Youth Fly Fishing Championships...

YOUTH FLY FISHING TEAM CANADA was formed to meet the challenge of mounting a Canadian entry for the 1st FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship & Conservation Symposium to be convened in Wales, August 9th - 14th, 1998.

FLY FISHING CANADA, as a member of FIPS-Mouche, solicited qualified candidates from each province.

Four youths from British Columbia with a passion for fly fishing secured positions on Team Canada for the inaugural event in Wales... Brad Clark (Kamloops), Carey Holmes (Kamloops), Kevin Mayer (Delta) and Matthew Sharp (Vancouver).

Building on the interest of the inaugural event, a second team of ten youths was formed for the 2nd FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship & Conservation Symposium which convened in Ireland, August 10th - 20th, 1999.

Four youths from British Columbia secured positions on Team Canada for the second annual event in Ireland... Carey Holmes (Kamloops), Kevin Mayer (Delta), Mike Morris (Port Coquitlam) and Matthew Sharp (Vancouver).

YFFTC is founded on the Fly Fishing Canada premise... angling for a better tomorrow!
